GHN: Apart from your international debut, what is your best cricketing highlight?

JS: "My franchise debut for the Knights and my MSL debut for the Jozi Stars". "I would also have to say my fifties i scored vs England in their most recent tour to South Africa".

GHN: Describe your journey from an amateur cricketer to an international cricket, including your sacrifices, your dedication to training and having the ability to improve your skills and temperament.
JS: "It was a  difficult beginning. "I had to leave the Northerns set-up as i didn't get any opportunities there". "I moved to Kimberley where i joined the Northern Cape set-up". "I wasn't able to see my family a lot because during the off season i played overseas, but my parents support has been massive in my success as well as my new fiance and friends". "I had to work my way up through Nothern Cape set-up to get my opportunities at the Knights". "I trained nearly everyday and sacrificed a social life for extra time in the gym and nets". "My performances for the Knights to date has seen me get further opportunities for the SA Invitational Side and now the Proteas".

GHN: Describe how you've remained physically & mentally fit and strong during these recent uncertain times.

JS: "It's a difficult question as 'Bubble Life' is really tough, but it is the new normal so it's really important to try and stay positive and learn as much as you can about your game and you as a person". "Everyone is different and have their own coping mechanisms but for me I've kept my own support bubble with my family and friends going as its helped me".

GHN: Do you have any advice for any young sportsmen and women looking to play sports as a career?

JS: "Live life everyday to the fullest and value every chance you get because you mat not get it again". "Stay humble in success and positive during failures". "But most importantly, have fun and chase your dreams".
