We recently caught up with the GHN academy athlete and professional cricketer Jacques Snyman who recently made his international debut for The Proteas vs Pakistan.
GHN: Describe your experience of your first international tour and debut.
JS: "My international debut was a dream come true". "It was one of the best experiences i have had to date". "Being on an international tour with other international cricketers was very professional and the intensity levels were next level, i loved every moment of it"
GHN: Apart from your international debut, what is your best cricketing highlight?
JS: "My franchise debut for the Knights and my MSL debut for the Jozi Stars". "I would also have to say my fifties i scored vs England in their most recent tour to South Africa".
GHN: Describe how you've remained physically & mentally fit and strong during these recent uncertain times.
JS: "It's a difficult question as 'Bubble Life' is really tough, but it is the new normal so it's really important to try and stay positive and learn as much as you can about your game and you as a person". "Everyone is different and have their own coping mechanisms but for me I've kept my own support bubble with my family and friends going as its helped me".
GHN: Do you have any advice for any young sportsmen and women looking to play sports as a career?
JS: "Live life everyday to the fullest and value every chance you get because you mat not get it again". "Stay humble in success and positive during failures". "But most importantly, have fun and chase your dreams".
